Red is a powerful color that immediately draws attention and demands respect, it is no wonder why the company chose such a color to represent the elite consultants that are on that path to success! To wear Red, you need 3-4 active team members. Your first team members generally are people that you know - your family members, your church sisters, your coworkers and even your neighbors. Once you have began your Mary Kay career, you introduce yourself to these women as a new Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. Most women are so excited to hear that you  have become a part of such a prestige company. As you work towards your red jacket, consider taking the following steps:

1. Make a list of 20 in town friends and 20 out of town friends

2. Then make a list of women that you know that need a little extra money on the side - that's everyone

3. Start making calls

 

 

Your new team members will also come when you conduct skin care classes. Mary Kay said that at every skin care class, there is at least one new team member for you! When you conduct skin care classes, you need to make sure that you share your I-Story. Here is a great script shared by Kathy Helou:

You can also introduce possible new team members to Mary Kay by bringing them to a meeting! At our meeting, they will experience fellowship, women helping women, a positive atmosphere and us playing with makeup!

For team members that you would like to sit down and discuss Mary Kay one on one with, I recommend that you book a career lunch or coffee with them. Here, you can really get to know the person, their wants and needs - the reason why they may need Mary Kay in their life. At a career coffee, you can share with them the facts about Mary Kay.

Other possible ways to introduce a possible new team member to Mary Kay is allowing them to experience Mary Kay in the privacy of their own home. For busy women with an ever changing schedule, try giving them a P.M.S. bag - that stands for Popcorn, Mary Kay Movie and Soda. Here is the idea to take a look at.

The Steps in the Team Building Process

1) Offer Company material, such as a team-building brochure or audio.

2) Invite her to any Mary Kay function (unit meetings, glamour workshops, guest nights, etc.)

3) Share the avenues of income.

4) Share the information with their husbands, if possible.

5) Have your Sales Director talk to them personally via phone or personal visit.

6) Give them Miracles Happen, Mary Kay autobiography.

1) Enthusiastic customers

2) Loyal hostesses

3) Women looking for extra money

4) Women dissatisfied with their current job

5) Friendly, well-groomed women

6) People with positive attitudes

7) People who ask you questions about what you do

8) Almost anyone – don’t prejudge! Look for people with a need – then help fill it

 

Questions to Ask in Order to Generate Interest:

1) Have you ever thought of running your own business?

2) Have you ever considered doing what I do?

3) Have you ever thought about where you’d like to be in 5 years?

4) Do you like to work with people? With cosmetics?

5) How would you like a business with an unlimited earning and advancement potential?

6) Would you like to come as my special guest to a success workshop next Monday night?

What To Say To Her

K.I.S.S.: Keep it simple sweetie, she wants to know two things: would she like to do this and how much money she can make

Keep it honest: present just the facts

Keep it sincere: let her know how the MK opportunity can benefit her, listen

 to her needs and wants and explain how Mary Kay can meet those for her

 

When She Says Yes!

Practice urgency

1. Let her know that you are in her area, ask if you can drop off the paperwork to get started

2. I will be taking care of somethings on my computer today, would you mind if I sent you the link to get started

 

What You Need To Remember About When You Are Working to Become a Red Jacket

Be enthusiastic, be excited that you are enriching lives

Keep your appointment short. Limit it to no more than 30 minutes.

Try to have your prospect's husband present when you are sharing the opportunity

STICK TO THE BASICS Do not prejudge, if you aren't convinced, how can she be?

Do not do all the talking, listen to her questions and concerns.

Build a team that not only enriches your lives, but the lives of others.

Build your team with your heart, not your head

Build your team by making lists and calls

Prepare to build a team by assembling the appropriate material

Work through your prospects' objections and concerns
